We care about the environment. We care about human rights. We believe that with good design and innovative materials, we can encourage a common care for each other and our world.
Dear Survivor was founded in 2015 and is run by wife and husband duo, Christine & Cody Howell. Christine’s mission to lead with good design combined with Cody’s experience in photography and production carry Dear Survivor forward.
While working in the fashion industry in LA, Christine created one-off designs for herself and friends. She never thought she could have her own label since she was self-taught, but continued creating out of love and passion for design and human connection. Once she saw how she could bring attention to social justice and environmental issues through captivating design, Christine took a chance, claimed the title of Designer, and Dear Survivor was born.
Cody brings 5+ years of commercial photography and production to the team, as well as a critical eye for aesthetics. From coordinating locations, stylists, hair/make-up, lighting, to product staging, Cody brings the professional polish to the overall look of Dear Survivor.
Christine and Cody run Dear Survivor in their San Diego studio. When not growing the business, you’re likely to find them cooking dinner with friends, walking through the San Diego Zoo, making art, camping somewhere in California, or sitting on the porch drinking wine and dreaming up the next big idea.
