N°01: Well Made Things

N°01: Well Made Things

I love that January offers a moment to pause. To assess. To take inventory of life and realign where needed.

I’ve always been a goal setting girlie. I’m an enneagram 3 (the achiever), was a straight A student all through school, and have now been self employed for 10+ years. So yes, you can call me goal oriented.

But the last couple years my New Year’s resolutions have stopped looking like goals. And that's because I’m starting to look at life less as something to be achieved, and rather as something to be enjoyed. Seems obvious, right?

As you all know, I’m a designer. My job is to craft well made things. But what comprises a well made life

This is the question I now ask myself when January comes around. What brings me joy? What reorients me to contentment rather than striving for what I don't yet have?

And I find my answer unbelievably simple.
1. Quality time with my loved ones.
2. Good meals shared with friends.
3. The pursuit of beauty.

So as I look ahead to 2026, these are the things I want to pursue.

I'm really looking forward to adventures around LA and California with Kit. He's 10 months old now and is so fun to hang out with, and there's so much I want to share with him. Cody and I are still figuring out the balance of being new parents and running two brands full time. (We're exhausted! lol). But we are so grateful for our support system and want to lean in to our community more this year. One thing top of my list is to host a regular dinner parties for friends. We had one last week and I made 3 lasagnas. Do you have a good lasagna recipe? Please share if so. I'm still searching for a go-to.

And the pursuit of beauty. I'm so grateful that my line of work is to literally create beautiful objects. My days are filled with the earth's rarest treasures. But beauty is so much more. It's people, it's art, it's a song. I'm excited to make more space for beauty this year.

I’d love to know, what does a well made life look like for you?

Wishing you all the best in this new year <3

xo,

Christine
